Our science

We measure what wearables have never seen.

Movement is more than step count and stride info. SelnerTX is built to capture the mechanics underneath: form, alignment, and compensation, from a sensing platform no other wearable has.

The measurement difference

What we measure, and why it's different.

Biomechanics is a mature science inside the lab. The breakthrough isn't new physics. It's a patented new way to measure it in the real world.

The metrics framework

What the data describes.

Temporal

The timing architecture of gait: the rhythm of how the body moves.

Cadence · stride & stance time · swing phases · double support

Kinematic

Angular motion and range through the gait cycle: the shape of movement.

Foot mechanics · range of motion & utilization · angular velocity

Symmetry

Left-right balance across every dimension, where compensation reveals itself.

Gait symmetry · stride & timing symmetry · excursion balance

Load & stability

Impact and stability behavior inferred from movement dynamics, reported as proxies and honestly labeled.

Heel-strike impact · explosiveness · stability signals

Device-based correction

Measurement that can act.

Every other movement tool stops at insight. SelnerTX closes the loop: the same device that measures is also an adjustable orthotic, with 19 settings of adjustability to tune alignment to the individual.

Set the alignment, capture the movement, compare the response. Correction you can see working, verified in the data.

How correction works

Every step is a chain reaction.

The human body moves as one connected system. Every joint, muscle, and tendon works in a predictable chain of events.

What misalignment costs

Higher injury riskCompensation loads tissues that weren't built to carry it. Deterioration & wearYears of uneven wear on joints and cartilage. PainFoot, knee, hip, and back, often traced to alignment. Reduced performanceEnergy lost to inefficient, off-line movement.

SelnerTX supports a more neutral foundation, so the chain can realign, and correction can be verified in the data.

How we validate

Measured against the gold standard.

A different measurement only matters if it's a trustworthy one. Every SelnerTX output follows a validation-first pipeline.

Reference-grade ground truth

Motion capture, force plates, and pressure mapping define biomechanical truth in partnered research labs.

Progressive validation

Each sensor layer is trained on reference data and blind-tested on held-out sets, never tuned on its own test data. Every metric carries its own accuracy threshold.

Wearable-scale estimation

Validated mappings let SelnerTX estimate biomechanical outputs from in-shoe sensing alone.

Confidence & guardrails

Every output ships with confidence scoring and known limits, so clinicians and users always know how much weight the data can carry.
